  • Well hello there, it's been awhile

Well, I was just looking through my old posts on here, and man it is sure crazy how things have changed. Even in just the last two years since I posted last. My how things have changed over that time.
I finally graduated in December of 2008 with my degree in Elementary Education. Woot!!! I am so glad to be done with school for awhile till I decide to go back and get my Masters, which wont' be for another year or so. I also have moved to KC and really like it here. The only thing is that I don't have the same friends here that I do back in Manhattan.
A week ago, i celebrated 3 years with Nick. i can't believe that it has been that long since we started dating, and it is amazing how much stuff has happened since then. I do still try to make it back to Manhatan from time to time, but those times seem to be coming farther and farther apart. I will be back for the home football games!!! So, if anyone wants to meet up, then let me know, cause i'll be around. Or if you are coming to KC for the ISU game, I'll be there too. Now, IF only all of my friends could just move to KC, things would be perfect!! I'll keep dreaming.
I still have not found a job as a classroom teacher, so I have been settling for getting substitute teaching jobs when I can. It's not the best, but it helps pay the bills. I also work at Lowe's in the evenings unloading trucks. So, needless to say, when I have to work both jobs, my days can be pretty long. Oh well, at least it keeps me from spending my money where I shouldn't be.
    Till next time, ciao

  • Finals et. al

So, I am trying to get myself in the mood to study for my finals. I just have no motivation, as I am really really ready for winter break. I do not know why I find myself in this slump, but I need to snap out of it. I also seem to have problems working on my take home finals, one of which is due tomorrow. Even though I have the apartment all to myself, I still get distracted with the TV and being able to get on ther internet and just mess around on there. I guess maybe I need to go to the library, even though there will be distractions there, like cute boys to stare at. LOL...I know...not that I need to stare, but sometimes you just can't help it. And then, there are events such as the basketball game at 1 that I am going to, and also the Christmas dinner for Wal-Mart. Other than that....nothing new in my life. I did not get to see Nick this weekend, so it has been kind of long and lonely. That's all for now...till my next update, be safe and have fun!!

  • Wow!! It's been a long time.

So, I have been reading some entries by a friend that has recently started posting again, and I was moved to do the same. I haven't posted in over a year now, and my how things have changed. For one, I am a year closer to graduating, and only have one more year to go. That is exciting news in and of itself, at least for me. I am ready to be done with college and get out into the real world. I know that it may or may not be that exciting, but I am ready to find out. I am working on finishing my portfolio that is due tomorrow, and that will be a huge stress relief off of my shoulders. I am just really ready to be done with this semester. I feel like it has taken alot out of me.
Another good thing about the last year is that I have found that special someone. We have been dating for almost 15 months now, and he is the best guy a guy could ask for. It sucks that he graduated last December and is now living in Kansas City, but he still comes down to see me every weekend, and a few weekends, I go there and see him. His name is Nick for those of you that don't know him, and he is the best thing that has happened to me. I am so happy with him, and cannot wait till I can move to Kansas City to be near him.
Other than school and Nick, I have nothing going on. I rarely go out, and do not feel the need to, as school takes up most of my time, and other than that, I am still working at Wal-Mart, working my way up the ladder, but I think I'm to the top rung I'm going to get to. I don't know that Wal-Mart would be a job that I would really want to work my way up in, as much as I despise it now. Oh well, it'll pay the bills till I graduate. Anyhow, I suppose I better get back to my portfolio and finish it up and get to bed. Hope all is well with everyone else.

  • Confused!!!

Well...it's been about 2 weeks since I last updated, and I've been pretty busy just working at least 40 hours a week at good ole Wal-Mart. I got two raises there in the last month, so I am really happy about that. One because I've been working there for a year, and one because I am now a customer service person. Yay, love the crazy people I get to deal with. It sure makes for an interesting day. Yeah...so enough about that hell hole of a place.

So, there have been alot of things going on lately that confuse me. I know that I shouldn't worry about it, but I am. I'm trying to be patient with the whole situation, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job about it. I just get pretty frustrated with it every once in a while, and am now venting a little bit. Sometimes things can be so difficult, but oh well..I guess I'll just focus on school and try not to worry about it.
Speaking of school, I am not looking forward at all. I am ready to have a schedule again, but not really looking forward to having homework and still working 40 hours a week to try to get by. At least this way I know I'll only have limited time to get things done and not have to worry about going out and wasting time and money on alcohol.
Well, that's about my life in a nutshell right now. Just thought I'd update y'all on it. Till next time...
